Deep cleaning (one-time / kertasiivous) in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa
A one-time deep clean — kertasiivous in Finnish — goes further than a regular home visit. It’s what you book before hosting family, after a renovation, at the start of spring, or when a regular service has fallen behind. Prime Cleaning Services has been doing deep cleans in the Helsinki capital region since 2012, and the work is priced by the hour, not by the job.
What makes a deep clean different
A standard recurring home clean focuses on surfaces and maintenance. A deep clean adds the things that don’t fit in a weekly rhythm:
- Inside the oven, hob, and rangehood filter
- Inside the fridge and freezer (defrosted if needed)
- Descaling of bathroom fixtures, shower glass, faucets, kettle
- Baseboards, door frames, light switches hand-wiped
- Window interiors and sills
- Light fixtures, ceiling fans, vents dusted
- Inside cabinets and drawers wiped
- Floors vacuumed and mopped including edges and under moveable furniture
Sauna interior, balcony, and external windows (ladder-accessible) can be added on request.
When customers usually book a deep clean
- Before holidays or family visits (Christmas, juhannus, summer guests)
- After construction or renovation dust
- Spring or autumn reset — a thorough once-a-year clean
- Before or after a long trip
- Before putting a home on the market
- Before starting a recurring service — to reset the baseline
How long it takes
Typical deep cleans run 4–8 hours. A one-bedroom apartment is usually 4–5 hours; a family home 6–8 hours. For tight schedules we can send two cleaners and halve the elapsed time.
Pricing and kotitalousvähennys
Hourly rate is 32 €/hour + 24 % ALV (39,68 €/hour gross). A one-time deep clean almost always clears the 150 € annual threshold for kotitalousvähennys on its own, so the 35 % labour deduction typically applies — effectively about 25,80 €/hour. The annual cap is 1 600 € per person.

Common questions
Can a deep clean be the start of a recurring service?
Yes — many customers book one deep clean to reset, then switch to weekly or bi-weekly maintenance. The two services combine well on the kotitalousvähennys deduction.
Do you clean carpets or upholstery?
Light vacuuming is included. Wet shampoo or upholstery extraction is a specialized job we can refer elsewhere.
Is this suitable after renovation?
Yes, for post-construction dust and paint splatters. If there’s heavy rubble or builder’s waste, clear that first — we handle cleaning, not waste removal.
